© 2025 Bloomberg Finance LPSamsung has slashed the price of Galaxy S25 Ultra days before it launches the new Galaxy S25 Edge, which has already been given an early discount.
This story was updated on May 12th with new Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra deal details.
The new Galaxy S25 Ultra promotion includes $230 off the device if no phone is traded in, three months of free Samsung Care Plus, enhanced trade-in prices, and discounted accessories when bought with the phone.
The $230 discount is the headline offer here, which brings the device down to $1,069.99. It’s also more than you will get for any traded-in Google phone (the most Samsung will pay is $200 for the Pixel 8 Pro), anything under the Galaxy S21, or the $50 Samsung will pay for any Android phone.
You’ll get more on the secondary market for your Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 Pro than $200. It is worth considering that route if you’re a Pixel owner and combining it with Samsung’s $230 no-trade in offer.
Fluctuating Galaxy S25 Ultra Trade in Pricing
Interestingly, Samsung’s trade-in pricing appears to have stagnated. In January, the company was paying $500 for the Galaxy S21 Ultra, $400 for the Note 20 Ultra and $300 for the Apple iPhone 13 Pro (when buying the Galaxy S24 Ultra).
In a February Galaxy S25 deal, the company was paying $340 for the Apple iPhone 13 Pro, $500 for the Galaxy S21 Ultra and a whopping $600 for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Now, it will only pay $300 for the Galaxy S21 Ultra, $180 for the Note 20 Ultra and $250 for the Apple iPhone 13 Pro.
Part of the dip in prices will be down to the fact that the Galaxy S21 Ultra has been dropped from receiving regular updates, effectively rendering the device unsafe to use and dropping its value. While the iPhone 13 Pro valuation has dipped, it isn’t as dramatic as the others.
It does appear that the aforementioned phones have shifted down the priority line, because the Galaxy S22 Ultra is now priced at $500, closer to the best Galaxy S21 and Note 20 valuations when buying the Galaxy S25.
Update May 12th: Samsung U.K has joined in with its own huge deal for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The Korean company is giving away a free pair of Galaxy Buds 3 Pro (worth £219 / $288.67) with every Galaxy S25 Ultra purchase.
This isn’t the first time Samsung has bundled in a freebie with its flagship smartphone. In previous promotions the company has given away a Chromebook, tablet, a Galaxy Watch and for cheaper phones, the budget Galaxy Buds FE.
This is alongside a straight discount that slashes hundreds off the device.
- 256GB model down to £1,099 ($1448.61) from £1,249 ($1646.33).
- 512GB model down to £1,199 ($1580.42) from £1,349 ($1778.14).
- 1TB model down to £1,399 ($1844.04) from £1,549 ($2041.76).
If U.S. Samsung buyers are feeling a bit let down by the lack of a comparative offer, take some solace in the fact that these freebies balance out historically poor trade-in prices in the U.K. and Europe. For example, Samsung will pay £263 ($347.00) for a used Galaxy S22 Ultra, whereas in the U.S. the company values it at $500.
