RACINE — The Racine Public Library is offering a wide range of free programs for children, teens, and adults from Jan. 24 through Jan. 31, including storytimes for young readers, technology education, creative clubs, and social service support.
The programs will take place at the library’s main location, 75 Seventh St., and are designed to serve residents of all ages and interests. Registration for select events is available online, by phone at (262) 636-9217 or in person at the library. The library is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Innovation Lab raffle continues through January
Throughout the month, the library’s Innovation Lab is hosting its ongoing 3D Print Raffle, which runs through Saturday, Jan. 31. The monthly raffle gives participants a chance to win complex 3D-printed items, including multicolor designs and larger-scale projects not typically available through standard print requests.
Entry forms are available in the Innovation Lab on the second floor, and registration is required to participate.
Programs support early literacy and family engagement
Several programs aimed at young children and families will be held during the final week of January, continuing the library’s focus on early literacy and hands-on learning.
Lapsit Storytime for infants and toddlers ages 0–24 months will take place Monday, Jan. 26, from 10 to 10:30 a.m. in the Martin Room on the first floor. The program introduces children to books, songs and simple activities in a group setting.
Ruff Readers, a literacy program that pairs children with therapy dogs, will run Monday through Thursday, Jan. 26–29, from 4 to 5 p.m. Registration is required and limited to four participants per session.
Other youth programs include Tuesday Tales Storytime on Tuesday, Jan. 27, Family Storytime with Miss Gail on Wednesday, Jan. 28, and Musical Storytime on Thursday, Jan. 29. All storytime programs are free and do not require registration.
On Saturday, Jan. 31, LEGO Club will return from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Martin Room. The drop-in program invites kids and tweens to build creatively using library-provided LEGO sets, with caregivers asked to remain present for younger children.
Tween and teen programs offer creative and social spaces
The library will also host several programs for tweens and teens focused on creativity, connection and inclusion.
Minecraft Club will meet Monday, Jan. 26, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Innovation Lab. Registration is required and limited to five participants. The library provides all necessary equipment for the session.
Teen Hangout Hour: Movie Night is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in the TeenScene area. Registration is encouraged for the event, which includes a movie screening and snacks.
The Reading Rainbow Book Club, a monthly discussion group for LGBTQIA+ teens and allies, will meet Thursday, Jan. 29, from 5 to 6 p.m. in TeenScene. No assigned reading is required.
Adult programs focus on technology, crafts and conversation
Adults can participate in several programs throughout the week, including technology education and creative gatherings.
Cutting the Cord: Intro to Streaming and Mobile Phones will take place Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Innovation Lab. The session covers basics of streaming services and mobile phone use. Registration is required.
Stitch N Bitch: Racine Fiber Arts meets Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 5 to 7:50 p.m. in the Business Center. The drop-in group welcomes knitters, crocheters and other fiber artists.
Seasonal Screams, a monthly horror discussion group, will meet Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Lee Room.
Social services available weekly
Free bus passes remain available for adults and teens three days a week to support access to medical appointments, job interviews and other essential services. Proof of appointment is required, and passes are limited to five per person per month.
